Grouse Mountain rises above Vancouver and is a popular year-round destination with views of the city, the harbour and the ocean. The Skyride cable car climbs to the top, where summer brings walks, viewpoints and wildlife programmes, while winter turns it into a ski area. It is also known for the demanding Grouse Grind hiking trail.
