Manoel Theatre

One of the oldest working theatres in Europe, built in 1731 on the orders of Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena. It is known for its Baroque interior, three tiers of boxes and a painted ceiling with a trompe-l'oeil sense of depth; guided tours run outside performance hours.
