Mount Teide (Teide National Park)

The highest peak in Spain (3,718 m) and a UNESCO World Heritage site. A cable car runs almost to the summit through a dramatic landscape of hardened lava and rock resembling the surface of the moon. The final climb to the crater requires a permit obtained in advance.
