The National September 11 Memorial and Museum stands on the site of the former Twin Towers, in memory of the victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The memorial consists of two vast reflecting pools with waterfalls set in the towers' footprints, with the names of the dead inscribed around them. The museum below presents objects, testimony and the stories of the tragedy.
