The Munich Residenz was the city palace and seat of power of the Bavarian dukes, prince-electors and kings. Today it is one of the most important palace museums in Europe, with numerous richly decorated rooms, a treasury and the Cuvilliés Theatre. The complex spans several centuries of Wittelsbach history.
