Retiro Park is Madrid's best-known city park, once a royal garden and now a favourite place to rest and stroll. It contains a boating lake, the Crystal Palace and numerous monuments and gardens. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Landscape of Light (Paseo del Prado and Retiro).
