Puerta del Sol

Puerta del Sol is Madrid's central square and one of the liveliest gathering places in the city. It holds kilometre zero of the Spanish road network, the statue of the bear and the strawberry tree (the city's emblem) and the famous clock whose chimes ring in the New Year. It is the starting point for exploring the centre.
