Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl)

The Golden Roof is the symbol of Innsbruck — an ornate oriel covered with 2,657 gilded copper tiles, built around 1500 for Emperor Maximilian I. It stands in the heart of the old town. The building houses a small museum devoted to its history.
