Traunstein Mountain

A 1,691-metre mountain on the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee whose steep rock faces make it visible from afar and earn it the name “Guardian of the Salzkammergut”. Several trails lead to the summit and there are two mountain huts; the tours are demanding and meant for experienced hikers with proper equipment.
