A brewery owned by the State of Bavaria, housed in the buildings of the former Benedictine abbey on Weihenstephan hill. The abbey gained the right to brew and serve beer in 1040, so Weihenstephan is regarded as the world's oldest continuously operating brewery; next to it is the Bräustüberl restaurant with a beer garden.
