The Museumsufer (Museum Embankment) is the name for the string of museums along both banks of the river Main, one of the most significant museum districts in Germany and Europe. Along Schaumainkai on the south bank stands a concentration of dozens of museums on every subject. The area is also known for events such as the Museumsuferfest and the Night of Museums.
