Devín Castle (hrad Devín)

Landmarks · Bratislava
Castle ruins on a rock above the confluence of the Morava and the Danube, in the Devín district west of the centre. The site was fortified as early as Great Moravian times, and Napoleon's troops blew the castle up in 1809. Its best-known feature is the small Maiden Tower on the very edge of the rock; Devín is reached by bus or by boat along the Danube.
