Bratislava Castle (Bratislavský hrad)

Landmarks · Bratislava
A massive rectangular building with four corner towers on a rocky hill above the Danube - the city's symbol, visible from everywhere. After a fire in 1811 it lay in ruins and was rebuilt in the second half of the 20th century. Today it houses part of the Slovak National Museum, the parliament stands next door, and the walls offer views of the old town, the Danube and Austria.
