Basilica of Saints Ulrich and Afra

Landmarks · Augsburg
A Gothic basilica built over the grave of St Afra, a martyr from 304; its onion-domed bell tower is one of the city's symbols. Inside are three large Renaissance altars. The Protestant church of St Ulrich leans against it - two churches side by side recall the Peace of Augsburg of 1555.
