Delete your account or data
You can delete your Balkan Nexus account at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You can also remove individual data and keep the account — that is described right below.
Deleting individual data, keeping your account
You do not have to delete the whole account to remove data. Inside the app you can delete the following yourself, at any time:
- posts, comments, classified ads, job ads, real estate listings and reviews you published — open the item and choose Delete
- your profile picture — open Profile and tap the picture
- your CV — open your job ad and choose Remove CV
- your Life Index rating — open the city index and choose Delete my rating
- a whole conversation — open it and tap the bin icon in the header, or press and hold the conversation in the list
- read notifications — tap the bin icon in the notifications header
- your chosen city — open the city and tap the pin icon
- news sources you follow and membership in a place — in Media, or on that place's page
What happens when you delete something: it disappears from the app immediately and is no longer visible to anyone, and the files you uploaded (images, CV) are permanently removed from our storage at that moment. The record itself stays in our systems flagged as deleted, so that we can handle moderation and any dispute; it is shown to no one and used for nothing else.
If you cannot do this in the app, write to info@balkannexus.com from the address the account was created with, use "Delete data" as the subject, and tell us what you want removed. We process requests within 30 days at the latest.
Deleting from within the app
If you can still access the app, this is the fastest way:
- open Profile
- scroll to the Settings section, at the bottom
- choose Delete account and confirm
You will receive a confirmation at your email address.
Deleting without the app
If you have already removed the app from your phone, or you cannot sign in, send us a request:
- write to info@balkannexus.com
- send the message FROM the email address the account was created with (or state that address in the message), so we can confirm the account is yours
- use "Delete account" as the subject
We process requests within 30 days at the latest, and as a rule much sooner. We confirm the completed deletion by email.
What is deleted
We permanently remove: your profile (name, email address, profile picture, chosen city), posts, comments, likes, classified ads, real estate listings, job ads, reviews, event RSVPs, memberships, contribution points and badges, notifications and settings, notification tokens, and every file you uploaded — including your CV and images.
Also deleted: conversations and messages, your Life Index vote, the blocks you set, and the reports you submitted.
Conversations are an exception to the rule below: because a conversation has two sides, deleting your account also removes the other person's messages in that conversation.
What remains, but with no link to you
- A place (organization) you founded stays in the community without an owner, so someone else can claim it — that way the community does not lose content that is still useful to others.
- Events, guides and tourist locations you entered stay published, but without author details.
- Content created by other users — for example a comment on your post — is not deleted automatically, in line with their rights.
One more thing
This is not a temporary deactivation — the account and its data are genuinely deleted. If you come back later, you create a new account from scratch.
