Child Safety Standards
These are the published standards of Balkan Nexus against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to every part of the application: the community wall, places, events, the Market, reviews, comments and private messages.
Publisher: IM Tech Solutions, Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, company number 67761138.
1. Zero tolerance
Any content and any behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child is strictly prohibited. This includes, without limitation:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form
- sexualising a minor, including text, drawings and generated images
- grooming a child for abuse
- sextorting a child
- child trafficking and any facilitation of it
- encouraging, promoting or advertising any of the above, and posting links to it
There is no warning and no second chance for such content.
2. Minimum age
Balkan Nexus is intended for adults, aged 18 and over. Accounts of persons under 18 are not permitted. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we close it.
3. How to report
Every user can report child endangerment from inside the application:
- the "Report" button is present on posts, comments, classified ads, jobs, real estate listings and on user profiles; choose the reason "Child endangerment"
- in a private conversation, the header of the chat has a button to report the user and a button to block them
- you can also write to us at info@balkannexus.com with "Child safety" in the subject
Reports involving children are handled as a priority, ahead of all others.
4. What we do with a report
Upon a report concerning CSAE we:
- remove the content from public view
- terminate the account permanently
- preserve the data needed as evidence and do not delete it at the account holder's request
- report the case to the competent authorities
5. Reporting to authorities
We act in accordance with the child protection laws that apply to us and we report cases of child sexual abuse material to the competent regional and national authorities. A report can also be filed directly with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (report.cybertip.org), which accepts reports from anywhere in the world.
6. Prevention
- reporting and blocking are built into every place where users meet, including private messages
- a block works in both directions: after it, neither of the two users sees the other's content
- the application is declared as intended for adults and is not distributed to minors through the store
- we do not offer a public directory of users, and children are not a target group of the service
